U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council and Arab-American Business & Professional Association Co-Host Panel Luncheon on Empowering Arab Women Entrepreneurs

The U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council and the Arab-American Business & Professional Association co-hosted a panel luncheon on « Empowering Arab Women Entrepreneurs to Build Internationally Successful Enterprises » on the 25th of April 2019 in Washington, D.C.

The panel, attended by a diverse range of academics, thought leaders, and business executives, featured Ms. Samia Ataya, Founder & Managing Director, Catwalk Cow; Dr. Malikah Alturki, Organization Development Consultant; and Dr. Doaa Taha, Chair, ADC Women’s Empowerment Forum. It was moderated by Dr. Salah Hassan, Professor Marketing & Brand Management at the George Washington University.

In his opening remarks, U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council President Danny Sebright said « We are proud to partner with the Arab-American Business & Professional Association in co-hosting this important event. Arab women and Arab-American women have always been trailblazers in business communities all around the world, especially in the United States and in the United Arab Emirates. »

Mr. Sebright then introduced Mr. Fuad Sahouri, the organization’s Chairman and President and Founder and President of Sahouri Insurance, who officially opened the panel.

During the event, the panelists shared their own experiences and thoughts on empowering the next generation of Arab women entrepreneurs. Ms. Atiya spoke about how she launched Catwalk Cow in the U.A.E., and is now using her knowledge to expand her operations in the U.S. Dr. Alturki and Dr. Taha discussed organizational development and challenges surrounding gender equality.

Throughout the discussion, panelists reviewed ways to build internationally successful enterprises, and how women can be at the forefront of new paradigms of leadership and management.

At the conclusion of the panel, attendees had the opportunity to engage and network with the panelists.
